George “El Profe” ., Founder & Director – St. Cloud Futsal

 

George ., also known as Coach George or El Profe, was born in Colombia in 1959 and grew up playing street soccer, where his passion for the game was formed. He played throughout high school and college and later competed in Colombia’s Second Division professional league.

 

In 1978, George migrated to the United States, where he worked as an EMT and served as a volunteer firefighter. While living in Connecticut, he played in numerous adult indoor and outdoor leagues for over 20 years. During this same period, he also volunteered as a youth soccer coach, beginning his lifelong commitment to player development.

 

After relocating to Florida in 1998, George continued playing and later joined the St. Cloud Soccer Club, where he coached for more than 10 years. In 2013, he founded his own indoor soccer program with a strong focus on futsal. The program is officially registered with both the State of Florida and the City of St. Cloud.

 

Since 2013, George has coached and developed futsal players in Florida and South Carolina. He has led nine  youth and adult teams to the ESPN World Futsal Championships organized by USA Futsal, earning medals at every appearance.

 

In 2025, George served as Technical Director for the United States Dwarf National Futsal Team, representing the country at the Copa América in Paraguay.

 

George holds several futsal coaching diplomas, a USAFF International Futsal B License, a United Soccer Coaches Futsal License, and a Futsal Certificate from the Instituto Universitario River Plate (Argentina).

 

St. Cloud Futsal was created to positively impact the lives of children and adults in the community through the discipline of futsal. The program emphasizes respect, discipline, and personal growth, and maintains a zero-tolerance policy for aggression, bullying, foul language, or discrimination of any kind.
